A new direction for my sound, I chose to explore the type of music that I love, but never felt before that I could write or perform. Lockdown made me look long and hard about what I wanted out of my life and career, and the songwriting that came out from that time was extremely liberating for me. The EP itself represents the passing of a storm. It starts as brooding (Reap What You Sow), then grows into a full on storm (Roots), where all rage is released, to the wreckage and the aftermath (Chasing Time), and finally the sun coming out and letting go of those bad times (Time Waits For No Man, Dead Horse). It could also follow my emotions about events and how you start off angry, to then feeling broken by it, then picking yourself back up and finally moving on. I hope you love it. The EP can be pre-saved here: https://ffm.to/rachelcroft-rwys-ep Here's to defying genre pigeonholes, and never making yourself smaller just to please a handful of people. Never has this song resonated more with how I've been feeling over the last weeks since the Pandemic began to take over our lives. Forgoing all my plans of professional PR etc, I felt it was now or never to let go of this song - I hope you can find some release in shouting along. I'm now working on new (less doom vibes) material, so stay tuned for lighter sounds to come, once these dark times pass over. Hope you like it. Rachel x Audio Copyright R H Cockcroft 2019
